Ming Tien is one of the more popular chinese hawker joints in PJ. With it's beach huts decor and the waiters dressed in Hawaiian shirts, it really does give you a beach feel.
Me, I am not one for beaches - too hot. Speaking of hot, my recent trip there was not too hot in some ways and in others, they really made me hot.
What's hot (in a good way) Beef noodle soup and Hokkien char are two items that are hot there. The sushi is not bad either.
What's not hot The Char Kuey Teow. Not only is he stingy with prawns. Only one per plate. He serves his CKT with fish cake - argghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh.
What made me hot
Due to a new policy introduced just recently, you are only provided
with plastic spoons when you order drinks. Not knowing this, I ordered
a coconut and it came with a plastic spoon. How the heck am I supposed
to open the coconut. How the heck am I supposed to scoop the flesh from
inside.
Dumb idea. Absolutely don't order coconut here.
The Wantan mee seemed popular so I thought I would try it. But they
were so popular till they forgot my order. In my books, that's very
bad, especially when I saw her taking down my order and writing down
which table number I was at.
Altogether I would give this place a BAD, BAD, BAD rating. |
