I used to think that that Lemon Grass' at Shangri-La had the best beef burger in town. And at RM35 it was also the priciest. But it was worth every cent. Burgers I had at TGIF, Marriott, Equatorial & Sheraton couldn't compare. Shang was tops - until today. Had lunch at Biba's Cafe at Mandarin Oriental today courtesy of a friend and what a lunch it turned out to be. For the first time in my life, I turned down a MO buffet to try the MO burger. MO has one of the best buffet in town but I just felt I had to test out the burger here - not because I heard anything good about it but just because I was itching for a slab of meat in between two pieces of bread. What was it like? It was so awesome that if I had been paying for the meal I would have told everyone to shut up and leave me alone but since someone else was paying for it, I could not very well do that. I asked for it "medium" and for the first time ever, someone actually got medium right. The patty was well marinated with some lovely pepperry spices and the cheese topping was excellent. You can choose mushroom or an egg topping but I say go with the cheese. Every bite was firm and juicy with the succulence of the meat still very much retained in the patty. Divine is what I can tell you about this experience. Thanks to George for buying lunch. Yuuuuuummmmmyyyyyy!!! Oh, and the best part, it's cheaper than the one at Shang. The burger at MO costs RM26.
