Grandma's Kitchen, Damansara Utama |

If there is a Grandpa's restaurant operating already, you can bet there must be a Grandma's restaurant somewhere else as well and indeed there is. I was alerted by MK to try this, she said food here is pretty good though she warned that the servings are very tinny. But MK has pretty discerning taste where food is concerned and I always take her recommendations seriously.
Located in between the Standard Chartered Bank and RHB in Damansara Utama (or some would refer to this area as Damansara Uptown now), parking will be a major pain on weekdays though it's quite bearable on weekends.
To maintain quality, everything is individually steamed to order so be prepared to wait. But what you'll get is something worth waiting for.
Grandma's special dumpling which is a shanghai dumpling is quite good.
I could taste a bit
of wine in the soup inside the dumpling. The skin is thick enough so
that the soup doesn't spill out of it when you pick up the dumpling. However, the servings are very small. So you can gulp them down with one bite pretty easily.
The Har Kow (prawn dumplings) and Siew Mai (meat dumpling) was quite good. The prawns were fresh, which is a must in making a good Har Kow.
However, I found the Century Egg & Pork Porridge and the Hong Kong Chee Cheong Fun bland The Chee Cheong Fun may be smooth but it tasted bland and the chili
they provided lacked dried prawns in it.
Going to toilets in Malaysian restaurants is like buying a lottery sometimes. It's a gamble and I usually try to avoid them but I am glad to say that the toilet here was clean though the flush was not working properly.
