After going to two leads
that led to duds, I was getting a bit apprehensive. Was this third
recommendation at Taman Tun Dr Ismail (Restoran OK, Jalan Aminuddin
Baki) going to be a dud as well?
So we ordered only one plate first. Just in case it was bad, we were going to cap our loss to only one plate.
When
it arrived, the presentation looked quite good, so it earned the 5%.
The smell, unfortunately was not very strong, so I would only give it
2% here.
However, we still needed to taste it. It tasted good
despite the lack of smell. You would have to stir the kuey teow though
because we realized that the first bite was a bit bland but the
subsequent mouthfuls were OK. The type of kuey teow that they used was
different. They used the type of kuey teow usually reserved for Ipoh
Sar Hor Fun. But it was really good because it made the kuey teow
really smooth. We liked this touch.
Generous amounts of chili,
just the way I like it. The cockles were OK though they could have been
more generous here. But the prawns were really fresh!
OK no
banana leaf, scratch 5%. No lard - bummer - that's another 5% gone. No
pork sausage - minus 5%. Plus it was a bit on the oily side - so I
would give it 3% here.

the CKT here is really quite decent. They lost points on the little
things that could have taken them from decent to good but hey it's
still pretty good. Thanks to Jeffrey Yap for this recommendation!
