One place that I have noticed while travelling down to work in Kuala Lumpur every morning is the line of people that make their way to this chee cheong fun stall on Jalan Tun HS Lee, even as early as 6:45 am. Because I rarely take breakfast on weekdays, I have not tried this place out until one day when my curiosity got the better of me.

The stall operates outside the Lee Hoe coffee shop and there's probably a case for an unhealthy meal here with all the lead fumes probably making their way into the chee cheong fun but this is Kuala Lumpur - it's inescapable.
Like most chee cheong fun stalls, they serve yong tau foo/ yong tow foo together with the chee cheong fun. Perhaps the extra thing that they have is that they also serve spinach which is uncommon.

But that's not enough to explain why so many people go there every morning. There must be something in either their yong tow foo or their chee cheong fun that is special. They have two types of chee cheong fun - the flat type or the rolled one. I prefer mine rolled. And their oomph factor was in their chee cheong fun which was exceptionally smooth. Perhaps it's the extra sesame seed oil that they put in it that makes it taste better too.

The stall operator is now into it's second generation, having started this business almost 30 years ago. The stall operates from 6 am to about 10 am before relocating to Kampung Attap to serve the lunch crowd there. Rain or shine, mother and son will open their stall 6 days a week.
