There's a contender for the best "siew yuk" (roast pork) in town that I had not known about earlier. Thanks to Raymond, I have now been educated. Located in the Imbi area, it's yet another good food place there. In fact, it's located almost diagonally opposite the "famous" yong tau foo/ yong tow foo place on Jalan Brunei Barat.
You'll have to make your way here by 12:30 pm to get a place to sit and to get your oder in early. Otherwise, if you arrive after 1 pm, you would either have to wait to get a sit or wait to be served. Raymond tells me that he has actually experienced waiting one hour before the meal arrived.
It's melt in your mouth "siew yuk" (roast pork) and to maintain the quality - they only use pork belly meat to make the siew yuk. It means that the fat layer is somewhat less thick and they'll only make about 8 slabs of siew yuk daily. So it's really limited supply.
While waiting for the siew yuk, try out the char kuey teow here - it's not too bad either though I find it a bit too dry.
Be warned, the siew yuk here is not cheap. A meal for four would probably come up to RM80.
