For those in Singapore: I tried the Penang CKT at a place called "Penang! Penang!" at 217 East Coast Road (Katong area), Singapore (there is another branch at 11 Mosque Street, Chinatown, Singapore). Pretty good, with lap-cheong, cockles, gu-chai (the greens) and sizeable prawns. No "ba-yu" or kacang (lard), which is not a big deal if the rest of it tastes good. Although I don't fancy cockles, they are just the right size (about 1cm to 1.5cm) - you don't want them big and looking back at you. A bit pricey at S$6.90++ per plate when you can get a decent sized one in KL or PJ for between RM2.70 - RM3.50. This place also serves other Penang delicacies like Penang Assam Laksa, but then we are only talking about CKT on this forum.

Penang CKT in Singapore generally sucks -- too oily and too sweet, especially the Teochew style. The only decent CKT in town is at the Copthorne Kings Hotel coffee house serving Penang Buffet every weekend -- very, very close to the real thing. Apparently the Auntie cooking the CKT is from Penang. I had 3 plates of CKT in one sitting. Non-halal.

Maybe you should consider a separate section for Malaysia and Singapore -- easier to manage geographically. In that way, all you guys who MUST have CKT while in Singapore don't have to look very far... In the future you could probably expand your website forum to cover CKT all over the UK, USA, Australia and North Asia. Who knows, you might find sponsors willing to pay you to advertise on your site. CKT is seriously missed by Malaysian expatriates everywhere - trust me on this. When I was in Kansas, I tried CKT in downtown Wichita at a Malaysian restaurant (probably the only one there), where a lot of Malaysian and Asian students hang out. For this, I had to travel 60 miles northbound from my little "ulu" town of Arkansas City. OK lah - CKT there is passable. So don't let anyone tell you you're crazy for wanting to start this forum. For serious CKT connoisseurs like us -- "don't pray-pray(to quote my buddy PCK)

Back to PJ. There is one coffee shop in Kampung Subang (about 2km from AIROD, towards the village) called Restoran Maxis. Serves CKT for lunch only. As you enter Kampung Subang, the corner shop house will be about 300m on your right - can't miss it. Pretty good CKT, served on banana leaf, lap cheong, prawns and cockles. Not too oily or too spicy - just right for most palates.

There is also the front stall at Restoran Kuan Yew, at the end of Jalan SS3/60. The CKT is bitching and absolutely delicious. Again, no "kacang". Small/regular portion at RM2.70, big portion at RM3.20. If you don't like cockles, they'll top up with prawns. Starts in the morning around 8AM and wraps up around 2PM or when the KT runs out. I patronise that stall each time I am back in PJ -- a must have.

Other one is in SS3 behind Restoran Hup Soon (just behind Restoran Kuan Yew). Not bad, but no "kacang" or lap cheong.

If you manage to get into Royal Selangor Club along Dataran Merdeka, the hawker section has CKT at Stall 6. Excellent, even though halal. The cockles are done just nice, with the right amount of chilli and prawns. So good I ta-pau'd 2 packets back to Singapore to enjoy. Business hours from 11AM to 11PM daily.
