I thought this was such a good list from Kokster99  that I should put it up front.

Hi Fellow Eating Fanatics!

The following is a list of eateries and the food they serve which I have tasted and loved since I was born 34 years ago. Since I'm still relatively 'young', I may not be as 'experienced' as compared to some of you..but hey, one man's meat is another man's poison..

Hokkien Mee with 'Bak Kee' T'ng/soup
This I consider to be one of my classic all time favourite supper. I remember when I was young, my brother would this all the time. My mother who is half hokkien would beat my brother with a cane if he doesn't buy it back! There's only 1 place when I eat this mee. It would HAVE to be the stall @ Petaling Street opposite The Hong Leong Bank. The mee is fried real dark with a generous spread of the infamous 'chee-yau-chah'. I believe everyone would agree that without it, hokkien mee is not hokkien mee! As a side, I will definitely order their pork soup. Absolutely delicious! The soup is thick-ish with generous amountof pork with vegetables normally cabbage.

Prawn Mee
I am a prawn mee fanatic. So, when I discovered 'Ho Yee Kei' prawn mee stall in Kepong, I didn't have to make trips to Penang anymore! Their prawn mee is excellent for KL standards. You or rather I just cannot find any other that can come close to them in terms of taste and quality. On top of that, they have diversify and serve you extra ingredients to add into your prawn mee like cuttlefish, prawns, clams, etc. However, don't be shocked if your bowl of prawn mee comes up to almost RM10 due to those additions! It is definitely worth a try and they have opened a spanking new shop in Aman Suria, Wangsa Permai.

White Chicken & Char Siu Rice
The best for this is this old heritage shoplot at Tengkat Tong Shin. They've been operating there for ages with no signs of moving or expanding. Their chicken is tender and juicy with just the right amount of oil and soya sauce. But the signature dish is definitely their Char-Siu/roast pork. It is roasted to near perfection; dark, almost black, dripping in the sweetest honey laced sauce I have ever tasted! You have to order your pork semi fat/lean and trust me, the pork is so crunchy and the juices will flow out like squeezing a wet sponge...melts in your mouth ala M&Ms! However, they only serve lunch and if you're there slightly later than 12:30pm, you have to wait for tables.

Oxtail Soup
My fav delicacy during a rainy day! The only place that serves a wicked concoction of this supposedly aphrodisiac for men, has to be Rennie's Pub @ Jalan Gasing. Another proprietor who has selling this for the longest time, more than 30 years if I'm not mistaken. The soup is stewed until the soup is thick with the meat all tender and juicy. The dish is served with potatoes, onions, and a type of cucumber(mind-blocked, suddenly can't remember)

Roasted Duck Rice
I last ate at this shop in the 90s! But I reckon it's still there. Hopefully the duck is still good The shop's name is Sunrise @ Paramount/Sea Park...located in the middle of this row of shops opposite the KFC. Another wait-long-time-for-table-if-late kind of place, the shop is run by mostly mid-age women. The duck was crunchy and succulent topped with a type of duck sauce which is just out nof this world.

Ayam Goreng
There is this stall which I think serves the most excellent ayam goreng I have ever tasted. The stall is located in Bangsar Baru behind TMC. It is run by this ever-so friendly and smily tall lanky Indian Muslim man. His ayam is fried until crunchy and juicy. You must get it fresh from the wok(normally you will because each time a batch comes out, they all gone within seconds!). It is fried so well tha once you sink your teeth into the chicken, the juices flow out like biting an orange. The fish head curry i heard is also excellent but I have not tried. However, whenever I eat there, I will never fail to ask for more fish curry. The curry is thick...thickest I have seen. But it's just so filled with spices and herbs, making it so fragrant and aromatic. This and 2 pieces of chicken and it's no need to eat dinner for me!
