Nam Heong is a name that was synonymous with good chicken rice for many years in Kuala Lumpur and Petaling Jaya and some people swear that they would not eat chicken rice anywhere else. Over the years, they have expanded the franchise and how have outlets in several places.
Having had lousy experiences at the outlets at Sri Hartamas and Mid Valley, Jackie and I were not exactly keen to try out the original outlet on Jalan Sultan. Unfortunately, there wasn't much choice that day so we decided that we would give it a try.
I am glad to report that the chicken rice here is nowhere as bad as the ones in Hartamas or Mid Valley. The chicken actually taste decent and the meat firm and smooth. Only complain is that it was a bit cold but this was because we were having lunch at 2:30 pm, which was almost closing time. They had run out of all extra chicken parts, so all we had was chicken meat and some pork meat balls.
