Exploring the new shops in the Bandar Puteri Puchong area, we saw that there was quite a bit of food activity on Jalan Puteri 1/4. So we picked one of the restaurants and this time it was Restoran AhanThai. We arrived there at 8 pm and the place was packed. Nevertheless, they didn't take too long to take our order but they did warn us that the food would take 20 to 30 minutes to arrive.
However, it only took about 10 minutes for the grilled stingray to arrive. There was an ample amount of chili in it but I felt the sauce was somewhat lacking so the taste of the sauce did not really get into the stingray.
The pineapple fried rice was very good eventhough there was no cashewnut in it.
The japanese tau foo was only so so. Not much taste in it though the japanese tau foo itself was very smooth. The pandan chicken was only okay - not great.
The highlight of the night was really the seafood tomyam was excellent with two mussels, prawns & some sotong in it. Served in claypot, it was the best dish of the night and the spiciness made us drip buckets of perspiration.
I must say that they are very generous with their portions of rice, so if you don't eat much rice, two persons can share one plate.
Our meal for 5 came up to RM70. Be prepared to work up a sweat here though as the place is not air-conditioned.
