Having a kopitiam open in the midst of Hong Kong eateries in SS 2 is a a refreshing change and we decided to give this place a try. We were seated and had our orders taken by a nice old man who introduced himself as Jeffrey. Jeffrey receommended that we try the Hainan Chicken Chop and the "Keong Chau Ngau Yuk Hor" which was the Noodles stir fried with Beef and Ginger.
The recommedations were spot on. The Hainan Chicken Chop Rice (RM7.90) was really good. Some places that are supposed to have a more famous pedigree on their chicken cop can't even hold a candle to this place. The chicken was tasty and maybe might have been a bit on the salty if eaten without the rice but the ketchup based sauce, the chicken and the rice complemented each other very well.
The beef noodle (ngau yuk hor) was also very good. The noodle was very smooth hor fun and gravy was extremely tasty. And no MSG was used - or last no perceptible amounts of MSG was used. Each plate costs RM7.90 as well. Whether it's breakfast, lunch or supper - try this place out. 1950s Kopitiam 90, Jalan SS 2/60 47300 Petaling Jaya Halal Tel: 03-7874 4085 Terms: Cash Business Hours: 8 am - 12 pm content is the copyright of www.waisikkai.com - travelling Kuala Lumpur, Petaling Jaya and Malaysia to bring you this food guide |
